Personalised learning

 Professor David Hargreaves

Nine 'gateways':

1 Assessment for learning,
2 New technologies,
3 Curriculum,
4 Workforce development,
5 Student voice,
6 Learning to learn,
7 Advice and guidance,
8 Mentoring,
9 School organisation and design.

Professor David Hargreaves sees all these areas as having huge radical potential for personalising learning. In particular, he sees a critical role for ICT. "Learning anytime, anywhere is now potentially available through the new technologies. We are only at the very beginning of this transformation, which will not be simply about ICT in classrooms, but about a new relationship between what happens in formal education and what happens in the home, the workplace and the community. Our vision for ICT is still far too limited, parochial and school-centred,"
